WhatsApp policy

How Business Chat AI uses official WhatsApp.

Business Chat AI uses only the official WhatsApp Business Cloud API from Meta. We do not use unofficial WhatsApp clients. This page describes opt-in, templates, and how people can stop messages.

Official Cloud API only

All WhatsApp traffic through this product goes through Meta’s WhatsApp Business Cloud API. Customers connect their own verified WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) and phone number. Business Chat AI does not host modified WhatsApp apps or session-based unofficial APIs.

Opt-in

Businesses using our software must collect WhatsApp opt-in before sending marketing or utility templates, except where Meta policy already allows a message (for example a user-initiated service chat inside the 24-hour window). Opt-in can be collected on a website, in a form, in-store, or by the customer messaging first.

We require workspace owners to import and message only people who asked for WhatsApp updates. Unsolicited bulk marketing is not allowed.

Templates and the 24-hour window

Outbound campaigns use only templates Meta has approved. Free-form replies are for the customer-care window after the person messages the business. Template categories, quality ratings, and conversation charges are controlled by Meta.

Stopping messages

End users can reply STOP or ask the business to unsubscribe. Businesses on this platform must honour that request. People can also use WhatsApp’s in-app controls to block or report a business.

Our own customer communications

If Business Chat AI messages a client on WhatsApp, it is only after they share a number and agree to support or onboarding updates, using official Cloud API and approved templates where required.
