Business Chat AI docs — Meta verification & WhatsApp Cloud API
Use this guide to understand what Meta must approve, how to connect your number, and how your team serves customers with business chat inside WhatsApp rules.
What Business Chat AI does for your customers
Your customers message the official WhatsApp Business name Meta approved. Your team answers in a shared inbox, sends approved templates, runs campaigns, and uses automation for after-hours or routing. We store delivery logs, contacts, and seats so the operation is auditable. We do not host unofficial WhatsApp sessions and we do not send from numbers we own.
Meta Business Verification
Verification is completed in Meta Business Manager, not inside this app. Meta reviews your legal business information, then you can use WhatsApp Cloud API products (display name, phone number, templates). Until Meta verifies the business, we cannot make your chats look “official” or issue a number. If verification is pending or rejected, you must resolve that with Meta.
Workspace onboarding
Create an account and choose the country where your business operates. The workspace uses that country’s currency and timezone, whether you are in India, the UK, the US, the Gulf, Singapore, Australia, Canada, or Europe. Invite teammates later from Team Access. Each organisation is isolated by org ID. Connecting a number is a later step, after Meta has given you Cloud API credentials.
Connecting the Cloud API number
In API Settings, save Phone Number ID, WABA ID and a permanent access token from Meta. Enable Embedded Signup with META_APP_ID, META_APP_SECRET and META_EMBEDDED_SIGNUP_CONFIG_ID when you want official Facebook login. Tokens are stored encrypted. You can connect more than one number on higher plans; we still do not create those numbers.
Webhooks
Point Meta to your public HTTPS webhook. For local development use a tunnel such as ngrok. One endpoint can route events for every WhatsApp number in the workspace. Verify the webhook token in Settings and confirm statuses appear in Logs. Without a working webhook, inbound customer messages will not reach the inbox.
Templates, campaigns and the 24-hour window
Only send Meta-approved templates to opted-in audiences. Use Compose for one-off sends, Campaign for bulk or scheduled jobs, and respect the 24-hour customer care window for free-form replies. Template rejection happens in Meta; fix copy there, then sync here.
Two bills: our plan and Meta conversations
Razorpay charges are for the Business Chat AI plan (messages you may send through this workspace, connected numbers, and team seats). WhatsApp conversation and template fees are charged by Meta on your business account. A paid plan here does not include Meta’s per-conversation pricing.
Privacy and policy
Export or delete workspace data from Settings. Follow WhatsApp Business Messaging policy, including opt-in, template categories, and no unsolicited marketing. We process message data only to run your workspace.
